Major National Activities Over the
Past Five Years:
Network Coordinator and Website Manager; Organization of Biological
Field Stations (OBFS, 1995-2005). Initiated the OBFS website,
and have managed the development of the website to include
databases for membership information, advertising positions
at field stations, information on each field station. Served
on OBFS committees to develop operations manual for field
stations, long-range plans, data and information management
plans, and strategic planning. Implemented ecological metadata
catalog developed as Core Network Investigator of the NSF-funded
RCN project, “Resource Discovery Initiative for Field
Stations” (RDIFS). Worked to implement the ecological
metadata catalog in the UC Natural Reserve System, OBFS and
Ecological Society of America. Chair of the Long-term Studies
Section, Ecological Society of America (2002-2005). Hosted
NEON planning workshop on Biodiversity at Hastings in 2004,
participated in CalEON and COREO planning workshops (2005).
