She was named Director of the Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch and Apacheria Project in summer, 2006, after serving as Assistant Director for seven years. Her responsibilities include land stewardship, initiating and supervising research projects, and planning and implementing educational and outreach programs. Her professional interests include all aspects of grassland ecology. She serves on the Natural Areas Program Advisory Committee to Arizona State Parks and the Resource Advisory Council for the Bureau of Land Management in Arizona.
